Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF) hair restoration is a new-age non-surgical procedure that employs cell growth factors to renew and replace your dormant hair follicles using wound-healing technology. These growth factors are critical for your tissue regeneration and repair.

PRF contains greater concentrations of growth factors as well as stem cells, white blood cells (leucocytes), and fibrin that boost hair growth further.
The PRF stem cells are “undifferentiated” cells that actually transform into the cells required to restore the hair follicles, allowing them to begin producing thick, healthy hair shafts again.
The fibrin in PRF functions as a scaffolding to restrict the growth factors and stem cells in the region of the scalp being treated from diffusing away. This enables the release of more growth factors over a longer time period.

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical procedure that involves drawing your blood, processing it, and injecting/ microneedling it into your scalp.
These injections stimulate and sustain natural hair growth by boosting blood flow to your hair follicle and increasing the thickness of your hair shaft.
The three-step process for PRF is as follows:
Your blood is extracted (usually from your arm) and placed in a centrifuge (a machine that spins blood to separate blood cells and plasma of different densities).

You may experience pinpoint bleeding, sensitivity, itching, and peeling of dry skin from the scalp in the first 48 hours of the procedure.
You may need 24 to 48 hours of downtime, during which Dr. Mikki advises against the use of topical scalp products and exposure to heat and direct sun rays.
