Get Rid of Thinning Hair and Bald Spots with Our Superior PRF Hair Restoration Services

A full head of thick, shiny, and healthy hair often helps build a confident personality. However, when you see yourself with thinning hair, receding hairline, or bald spots, you may begin to feel self-conscious.

At Medrein Health & Aesthetics, Southlake’s anti-aging and wellness center, we offer hair regeneration treatments that will help boost your hair growth and restore your confidence.

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF) hair restoration is a new-age non-surgical procedure that employs cell growth factors to renew and replace your dormant hair follicles using wound-healing technology. These growth factors are critical for your tissue regeneration and repair.

PRP vs PRF: These both are similar but different

PRP PRF
Both require blood draw, but PRP requires more blood draw. Requires less blood draw.
PRP tubes have anticoagulants, and this anticoagulant will get injected/ microneedled into your body! Anticoagulants are used here to prevent blood from clotting. The tubes here have NO ANTICOAGULANTS, hence this is the purest form that can be safely injected back into the scalp/skin/microneedle.
PRP is spun in a centrifuge at higher speeds, which can damage the blood cells, hence will contain lower levels of growth factors compared to PRF. PRF is spun in a centrifuge at lower speed hence no damage to the blood cells, leaving behind high concentrations of growth factors for rejuvenation/ healing.
PRP releases growth factors for few hrs, per literature upto 72 hrs (3 days) PRF releases growth factors for 10 days.

Benefits of PRF Hair Restoration

PRF contains greater concentrations of growth factors as well as stem cells, white blood cells (leucocytes), and fibrin that boost hair growth further.

The PRF stem cells are “undifferentiated” cells that actually transform into the cells required to restore the hair follicles, allowing them to begin producing thick, healthy hair shafts again.

The fibrin in PRF functions as a scaffolding to restrict the growth factors and stem cells in the region of the scalp being treated from diffusing away. This enables the release of more growth factors over a longer time period.

Hair Loss Conditions that benefit the most from PRF Hair restoration

Your hair loss may be due to several factors. Our hair restoration treatments work best if your hair loss is due to the following:

  • Aging.
  • Heredity.
  • Hormonal imbalance (the issue causing the imbalance must be treated before our treatment starts).
  • Autoimmune diseases: For cancer-related hair loss conditions, waiting for 12 months after the completion of your cancer treatment is recommended before starting our hair rejuvenation treatment.
  • Post Hair transplantation.
Benefits of PRF for Surgical Hair Restoration

Benefits of PRF for Surgical Hair Restoration

  • Reduces sensitivity in the scalp throughout, both before the surgery and during the postoperative phase.
  • There are no potential post-surgical problems.
  • Promotes and accelerates transplanted graft adherence.
  • Reduces postoperative redness.
  • Heals scalp wounds more quickly.
  • Accelerates tissue regeneration.

PRF Hair Restoration Process

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical procedure that involves drawing your blood, processing it, and injecting/ microneedling it into your scalp.

These injections stimulate and sustain natural hair growth by boosting blood flow to your hair follicle and increasing the thickness of your hair shaft.

The three-step process for PRF is as follows:

Step 1

Your blood is extracted (usually from your arm) and placed in a centrifuge (a machine that spins blood to separate blood cells and plasma of different densities).

Step 2

Your blood will be divided into three layers after around 10 minutes in the centrifuge. These layers include:

  • platelet-poor plasma
  • platelet-rich fibrin
  • red blood cells

Step 3

The platelet-rich fibrin that is rich in growth factors will be then taken up into a syringe and injected into regions of your scalp where hair growth is needed.

Post-Procedure Effects and Results of PRP & PRF Hair Restoration Treatment

You may experience pinpoint bleeding, sensitivity, itching, and peeling of dry skin from the scalp in the first 48 hours of the procedure.

You may need 24 to 48 hours of downtime, during which Dr. Mikki advises against the use of topical scalp products and exposure to heat and direct sun rays.

You may not notice instant results right after the procedure. For enhanced results, you must follow the aftercare instructions given to you by our licensed and board-certified physician, Dr. Mikki.

You may feel some discomfort and dryness of the scalp that subside on their own.
