What is a Hydrafacial?

How is Hydrafacial a customizable treatment that is great for all skin types?

The Step by Step Process

Cleanse:

  • First is a double cleanse. I start with an oil-based cleanser to remove any makeup or built-up sebum from the skin. I then go in with a water-based cleanser to again remove any built-up sebum or other debris from the skin.
  • While cleansing thoroughly you’ll enjoy a gentle flow of steam to help open up your pores so it is easier to extract blackheads or whiteheads later in the facial.

Serums:

  • After cleansing is done, I then pick out the appropriate serums for your skin type/ skin concerns. Once the serums are set up I begin with the skin deep prep which is the prep solution to finish clearing out your pores to better absorb our serums.
  • The second serum I use would be one of our exfoliating serums. I usually choose between salicylic or glycolic depending on your skin.

Salicylic vs Glycolic:

  • Salicylic acid is best for acne prone skin, it treats acne by reducing swelling and redness, as well as unplugging blocked pores.
  • Glycolic acid promotes cell turnover which is essentially breaking down dead skin cells and removing them from the surface to provide a smoother, clearer appearance.

Extractions:

  • Once we’ve done exfoliation, I move on to extracting any leftover clogged pores AKA pimples. I use a tool called an ultrasonic skin scrubber. This tool utilizes ultrasound technology to help loosen and remove oil, dirt, and cellular debris from the pores.
  • This is a more comfortable way to extract whiteheads and blackheads. You may feel some slight heat but it’s still much more comfortable than the typical extraction tools.

Post-Extraction Serums:

  • Now that exaction is done, I move back to the serums! For post-extraction serum, I choose between our skin brightening serum and our peptide serum. Or even a combination of both.

High Frequency:

  • The next step is one of my favorites! I use a high-frequency wand all over the face. What is high frequency: it’s a jack of all trades!
  • High frequency helps treat and prevent breakouts, minimize large pores, reduce appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, decongest puffy eyes, and even rejuvenate and nourish hair follicles for healthier hair growth. Now you see why it is one of my favorites!

LED Light Therapy:

  • After high frequency, I use LED light therapy. The main focus of this is to promote anti-aging effects and reduce inflammation as well as stimulate collagen production. There are three light colors: red, blue, and green.
  • Red light increases blood circulation to diminish wrinkles.
  • Blue light diminishes inflammation and kills bacteria within the skin.
  • Green light calms and balances skin tone and stimulates lymphatic drainage.

Last Step:

  • To wrap up the facial, I then massage more serums and creams into your skin. Starting with a mixture of Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C.
  • Hyaluronic acid helps promote skin regeneration by offering extra hydration and barrier protection.
  • Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that tightens, lightens, and brightens.
  • Then I apply a hydrating cream and lastly SPF.
